Consultation and surgical procedure
During your consultation, Dr Schlaudraff will determine with you the nature of your alopecia and your expectations of the Kerastem hair restoration treatment. He will then analyse your donor area and your scalp.
Kerastem treatment is carried out in our modern and fully equipped surgical rooms, which meet with the highest standards of comfort, safety and hygiene. During the procedure under local anaesthesia, Dr Schlaudraff will perform a micro-liposuction of the previously defined donor area in order to remove the equivalent of a small quantity of adipose cells. He will repeat the operation for the extraction of stem cells present in your fat. Thanks to Kerastem technology, the adipose tissue is then purified and combined with regenerative stem cells, in real time, to avoid the cost of sending and treating cells outside the clinic. The cell-enriched fat is then injected into the scalp using a fine cannula. With local anaesthesia, the procedure is totally painless.
Recovery and results
Only one treatment is required to increase the hair count and thickness. However results are not instantaneous and only start to show after 4-6 months. The recovery time after a fat graft is very short. After one week, there are no visible marks on the skull. You will be able to resume your activities in less than 48 hours after the fat graft. After a few weeks, the bald area begins to cover itself. The hair regrowth is visible within four – six months following the procedure, and the final results appear between 6 to 12 months after the hair restoration.
