During your consultation, Dr Schlaudraff will ask you what you would like to improve about your eyelids through blepharoplasty, and help you decide on the appropriate procedure to respond to your expectations.
Dr Schlaudraff carries out eyelid surgery in the Concept Clinic surgical centre under a local anaesthesia. In upper eyelid surgery, a small incision is made in the crease of the eyelid, which makes it barely visible. In the lower eyelids, the incision is made in the lower lashes or, where possible, is transconjunctival, that is, inside the lower eyelid, thus rendering the scar totally invisible.
After a blepharoplasty, you will be able to go home on the same day, with an appropriate treatment plan. It is recommended that the head be kept elevated and cold compresses applied for three to five days, in order to optimise recovery and minimise bruising. Stitches are removed approximately seven days after the operation. Patients are able to resume their normal activities within seven to ten days after the procedure. It is advisable to avoid vigorous physical activities for at least four weeks. Once your convalescence is over, your eyes will be bright, you will look younger and your natural features will be preserved.
