Hyaluronic acid

A natural substance produced by the human body, hyaluronic acid helps to preserve moisture and maintain the elasticity of the tissues. As we age, our body produces less hyaluronic acid. The skin then dries out and slackens, the facial features become more pronounced and hollowed out, and fine lines appear, together with troublesome furrows. Hyaluronic acids such as Belotero® or Restylane® are absorbable products, which make it possible to alleviate or even eliminate wrinkles by filling in the hollows that make them visible. This virtually painless treatment is also used when extra material or volume needs to be added to part of the face. These injections also make it possible to lift cheeks that have become a little flat, redefine the contour of the lips, or even reduce dark circles and bags beneath the eyes.

During your consultation, Dr Schlaudraff will examine your face and ask you to describe the improvements you are expecting from your treatment. Hyaluronic acid injections cause no pain, since they are carried out using a microneedle. Belotero® or Restylane-L® also contains lidocaine, an anaesthetic used to facilitate the injection process. If you wish, the injections can be performed under a local anaesthetic with an anaesthetic ointment. Our aesthetic medicine treatments are carried out in our treatment rooms, especially designed for this type of procedure and which meet with the highest health authority standards of comfort and safety. Hyaluronic acid is reabsorbed naturally after 6 months.
