UltraClear “Cold” Laser vs. Traditional Lasers
How can UltraClear be a “cold” laser? Any laser technology is based on a focused laser beam concentrating the light energy in a single point. But what sets UltraClear apart is its speed. As an extremely fast fiber laser, it can “stack” very short laser pulses on the same microspot. This reaches the desired treatment depth, but without burning the tissues.
Think of a hot cooking plate. Touch it briefly and you feel the heat without getting burned. Expose your hand to the heat for a longer period, though, and you will burn. Traditional lasers work like the second scenario. UltraClear works like the first.
UltraClear stands out from traditional lasers due to its ability to deliver targeted, effective energy without causing excessive damage to the skin. Treatments can be adapted to the indication and the desired depth while ensuring a shortened downtime.
Also, with UltraClear sessions can now be performed under efficient local anaesthesia but without any injection. We use local transdermal local anaesthesia with Lidocaine (not a simple cream!). This new protocol reduces pain as effectively as if an anaesthetic was injected.
Preventive and restorative treatment for the skin
UltraClear offers a full range of treatment options, from the preventive 3D Miracle “glow” treatments to deeper skin repair protocols.
3D Miracle is the perfect preventive treatment for patients seeing the first signs of skin aging. It provides visible results with minimal downtime. The skin shows redness for 24 to 48 hours, but its texture becomes more even, pores are tightened, and the complexion regains its radiance. Pigment irregularities, such as dark spots, can also be reduced, while acne scars are gradually fading.
UltraClear Laser Coring is a restorative treatment and another breakthrough technology. It allows for tissue to be removed with a laser as if it was taken out with a biopsy needle, but without charring the surrounding tissue. The tissue is effectively and gently removed, smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines and improving skin firmness in the presence of sagging skin.
The Benefits of the UltraClear Laser
Some of the key advantages of UltraClear include:
- Its minimally invasive nature, which significantly reduces the discomfort associated with the treatment.
- Recovery time is generally shortened. It allows for patients to quickly resume their daily activities. This feature makes it a particularly attractive option for patients with active lifestyles.
- Thanks to its gentle approach, UltraClear is accessible to a wider range of patients, notably, tanned skin or skin of colour, usually harder to treat safely with laser.
- UltraClear adapts to different skin types and various needs through personalized treatment protocols.
- The results are gradual and natural, avoiding the “post laser” look sometimes feared by patients.
- The innovative UltraClear transdermal anaesthesia protocol allows for a much-improved comfort during and after the treatment.
How does an UltraClear session work?
Before any laser session, we meet with the patient for a medical consultation to assess their skin and determine the most appropriate treatment plan. This step is essential to ensure optimal results in a safe manner.
On the day of treatment, the skin is carefully prepared and cleansed. We do not use anaesthetic creams but our transdermal anaesthesia protocol to ensure maximum comfort.
Next, we perform the laser treatment in several passes to the targeted areas, adjusting the settings according to the patient’s specific needs and downtime.
The session typically lasts between 20 and 60 minutes. The sensations experienced vary depending on the intensity of the treatment but are most often described as a sensation of heat, discomfort or tingling, which is well tolerated.
When and how are the results visible?
The effects of the treatment are not immediate but develop gradually. After the initial healing period, the skin appears more radiant, and improvements continue over the following weeks and months due to the pronounced collagen stimulation.
The number of sessions depends on your goals and the initial condition of your skin. But already after 1 session results are visible. These results can be improved by another treatment and will last longer-term, provided you follow a suitable skincare routine.
After the treatment, mild or severe redness, swelling or temporary sensitivity may occur, as well as moderate peeling, which is a sign of skin renewal. These effects are temporary and can last up to 2 weeks depending on the intensity of the treatment. Following the post-treatment protocol as well as adequate hydration and sun protection are essential for optimal recovery.
